EAST WINDSOR—In a landslide victory, Democratic incumbents Mayor Janice Mironov, Deputy Mayor Walter Daniels Jr., and council members Marc Lippman and Marsha Weinstein were re-elected Tuesday to their fourth consecutive terms on Township Council, according to unofficial election results from the township clerk.
The seven-member council will remain unanimously Democratic.
Ms. Mironov received the most votes with 3,267, followed by Mr. Lippman with 3,009, Mr. Daniels with 2,952 and Ms. Weinstein with 2,925.
Their Republican opponents lost by a more-than-2-to-1 margin. Certified public accountant Aaron Sears received 1,492 votes; Realtor Carol Higgins got 1,465; and retired electrician Nick DiDia received 1,441.
“We’re gratified the voters of East Windsor have continued to show us strong confidence,” said Mayor Mironov. “We’ve worked hard while in office to serve the people of the community.”
The four council members got the news during a subdued gathering at Ms. Weinstein’s Twin Rivers home about an hour after polls closed.
Councilman Marc Lippman, who is recovering for heart surgery, did not attend the post election celebration.
