Democrats sweep Princeton Borough, Princeton Township and Montgomery; Rocky Hill results reported
PRINCETON BOROUGH
Princeton Borough Democrats retained their lock on the Borough Council on Tuesday with both incumbents, Andrew Koontz and Roger Martindell, retaining their seats.
Mayor Mildred Trotman, who was running unopposed, will retain her seat as mayor.
The results, which do not include absentee ballots, show Mr. Martindell received 992 votes and Mr. Koontz 937 votes. They defeated Republicans Linda Sipprelle, who received 529 voted and Princeton University student Joseph Codeda, who received 349 votes.
Mayor Trotman received 1,084 votes.
PRINCETON TOWNSHIP
Princeton Township Democrats swept the field on Tuesday winning the two contested seats and retaining their monopoly on Township Committee.
Mayor Phyllis Marchand was the top vote-getter, receiving 2,193 votes. She was followed by her running mate, Lance Liverman, who received 2,171 votes.
Republican challenger Esther Mills received 1,187 votes and her running mate, Cindy Randazzo received 1,207 votes. Results do not include absentee ballots
MONTGOMERY
In a hotly contested contest, Democrats retained their 4-1 hold on the Township Committee on Tuesday.
In the race for two three-year seats on the council, Democratic incumbents Louise Wilson and Brad Fay were elected, defeating Republicans Frank Drift and Patricia Graham. In the race for the one-year seat, Democrat Mike Joye defeated Republican Kacey Dyer.
In unofficial results that do not include absentee ballots, Ms. Wilson was the top-vote getter, with 2,450 votes. Mr. Fay received 2,206 votes. Trailing in the contest for the three-year term seats was Ms. Graham with 2,082 votes and Mr. Drift with 2,044 votes.
In the one-year term race, Mr. Joye, the Democrat, received 2,246 votes and Ms. Dyer, the Republican, 2,090 votes.
ROCKY HILL
Linda Goldman, Jim Banks and Courtney White were elected to the Rocky Hill Borough Council on Tuesday.
In a three-way race for two full-term seats on the council, Ms. Goldman, an independent and Mr. Banks, a Republican received 156 votes and 151 votes, respectively. Trailing was Republican Tom Roshetar, who received 107 votes.
In the race for a one-year council term, Ms. White, an independent, received 149 votes, defeating Republican Peggy Merritt, who received 104 votes.
