Saint Peter’s University Hospital and the New Jersey Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired will host eye screenings for individuals with diabetes Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the hospital’s family health center, 123 How Lane, New Brunswick.
The free screening is for individuals with diabetes that do not receive regular eye and foot care due to inadequate or lack of health insurance coverage. Visitors will also be given foot examinations, blood pressure readings and stroke screenings. Visitors will receive test results during the visit. Visitors younger than age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Eye drops used during the exam cause a temporary blur in vision, so participants should come with a driver. Refreshments will be served.
Preregistration is required and may be done by calling Saint Peter’s at (732) 745- 8600, ext. 6278.
