HILLSBOROUGH Hubert David Vogelzang died Nov. 3 in the Medical Center at Princeton. He was 82.
He was born and raised in Passaic and had lived in Wayne for 40 years before to moving to Hillsborough seven years ago.
Mr. Vogelzang was an electrician and worked for Local 102 IBEW in Parsippany for many years. He also taught electrical technology at Passaic Vocational High School for 20 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a former communicant and past president of the men’s Council of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Wayne.
He was a member of Local 102 IBEW for 60 years and was a former director and coach of the Wayne PAL Baseball League.
A sister, Ann Cook; and a brother Arnold Vogelzang; are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, Frances (Cook) Vogelzang, three sons, David of Montgomery, Carl of Cranford and Robert of Bedminster; a daughter, Carolann Confalone of Bridgewater, one sister Mildred Vogelzang of Passaic; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m. today (Thursday) from the Hillsborough Funeral Home in Hillsborough, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass in St. Charles Borromeo Church, Skillman. Entombment will be in Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
