Jean C. Patrick

Mrs. Patrick, 72, of Jackson, died Oct. 14, 2007, at home. She was born in New Brunswick and had lived in Toms River, Edison and Milltown, as well as in Clearwater, Fla., before moving to Jackson two years ago. Prior to retiring in 2005, Mrs. Patrick was an administrative assistant at Georgian Court University, Lakewood, for many years. She also worked for St. Petersburg College in Florida, the Hilton hotels in St. Petersburg, the Ramada Inn in Edison and Middlesex County College, Edison. She was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Mrs. Patrick was a member of the Jackson Senior Citizens Club and supported the efforts of the Jackson Tea Party to address rising taxes in Jackson. In earlier years, she was elected as a member of the Middlesex County Democratic Committee. She was an active supporter of her grandchildren’s endeavors in Jackson recreation, the Cub Scouts and school district activities. In addition, Mrs. Patrick provided assistance for homeless individuals and those who are at risk of being homeless in Ocean County. She was predeceased by a brother, Jack Welsh. Surviving are two daughters and sons-inlaw, Bonnie Patrick Mattalian and Dean Mattalian of Hackensack, and Kathleen Patrick and Stephen Martin of Jackson; a sister-in-law, Marie Welsh of Milltown; three grandchildren; two nieces, Sharon Welsh of Manalapan and Sue Selvaggio of North Brunswick; and two nephews, John Welsh and Jim Welsh, both of Milltown. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Aloysius Church. George S. Hassler Funeral Home, Jackson, was in charge of arrangements.
