The Cheesequake Baseball League will be holding registration for the 2007/2008 incoming season. In person registration will be held on Nov. 17, Dec. 1, and Dec. 15 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Cheesequake Fields located on Route 9 North and Schulmeister Road in Old Bridge.

Pre-register by December 31 to receive a $20 discount. Mail-in registration is available by going to the Web site at www.leaguelineup.com/cqba, click on handouts to download an application.

Wood bat Saturday is back. The league will supply the bats.

The Monroe U13 Lady Falcons travel basketball team notched its fifth straight win and improved to 6-1 in MidMonmouth League play.

Last Thursday, Monroe defeated Manalapan 38-13. Monroe received scoring efforts from nine different players. Kylie Davidson (10 points) and Jena Pritzlaff (8 pts) led the scoring attack. Christina Felice, Stephanie Johler and Victoria Clayton each netted 4 points while Samantha Clark, Kristen Junquet, Keriann Manziano and Jackie Racine each added a basket. Meghan McClaren (4 rebounds), Junquet (7 rebounds) and Clayton (8 rebounds) all had a great game on the defensive end of the floor.

On Friday, Monroe came away with a 40-33 win over Holmdel. Pritzlaff led the offense with 12 points while Clark (7 pts), Clayton (6 pts) and Racine (6 pts) had key contributions. Felice (4 pts), Davidson (2 pts) and Alexa Carini (2 pts) rounded out the scoring. Manziano provided some key defensive minutes.

Next week, Monroe faces off against unbeaten Howell in league play.

South River Little League Baseball will hold sign-ups Nov. 14 and Nov. 15 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the high school gym. Registration is open to all children ages 9 to 12 years, as of April 30, 2008. Cost is $85 per child or $135 per family. No candy sales are required. Parents must provide a copy of the child’s birth certificate and proof of residency. $100 work bond check is also due at time of registration. Sizing samples for uniforms will be available. In the Old Bridge Fall Baseball League, the Madison Park Thunder continued their undefeated season by winning the championship game with a 5-4 decision Nov. 3. During the season, Madison Park was led by solid pitching from Danny Brennan, Peter Marottoli and Chris Pozo. They also had strong hitting from Chris Perez, Donny Dugan, Matt Ballo and Brandon Smith. Also contributing throughout the year were Chaz Franqui, Matt Short, Jake Dorr and Connor Riecks. Anthony Marottoli, Carlos Perez, Joe Ballo, and Angel Pozo coached the team.
