Isobel Torrens Wood, 96, of Houston, Texas, died Nov. 8 at the Houston Specialty Hospital.
Born in New York City, she lived in Ewing for 50 years, moved to Chicago 10 years ago, and to Houston two years ago.
She was retired from the State of New Jersey. She was a graduate of the University of Vermont and received a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin. She was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and the Pi Beta Phi fraternities.
She worked on Wall Street in the 1930s and was a member of the West Trenton Presbyterian Church.
Daughter of the late William Erskine and Grace Hand Torrens and wife of the late Archibald Lloyd West and Horace Wood, she is survived by three sons, Jonathan West of San Francisco, Tim and Elene Meury West of Houston, Texas, and Titusville, and David West of Chicago; four grandchildren, Alison and Brien West of Houston, Texas, and Kelly and Spenser West of Chicago.
Funeral services will be held Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. at the West Trenton Presbyterian Church, 490 Grand Ave., West Trenton, with the Rev. James Pruner, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Ewing Church Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
