Karen Licitra, employed by Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick, has been elected to a three-year term on the Rider University Board of Trustees.
Ms. Licitra is one of 18 company group chairmen at Johnson & Johnson, she is also worldwide franchise chairman for Ethicon Endo-Surgery Inc. Advanced Sterilization Products, and Johnson & Johnson Medical, Canada.
Locally, she serves as a member of the Strategic Direction Committee for the United Way. Mrs. Licitra and her husband, Richard Dakers, live in Skillman.
Brooke Gilligan of Watchung, who has worked at the Eden Institute for the past four years, has been recognized as the 2007 Andors Teacher of the Year. A division of the Eden Family of Services, the Eden Institute, located in Princeton, provides year-round educational programs for children with autism.
The Andors Family Fund, established in 1999 by Eden parents Leon and Toni Andors, is an endowed fund which continues to grow through additional contributions made by the Andors’ family and friends. Each year, one teacher from Eden Institute is selected as the Andors Teacher of the Year, where a percentage from the fund helps subsidize the salary of the Eden faculty members whose dedication and professionalism have proven exemplary. In addition, the recognized teacher receives a certificate and $100 to be used toward the purchase of materials and supplies for the classroom.
Ms. Gilligan is currently head teacher in Eden’s middle childhood program.
