BRIDGEWATER — Linwood S. Williams Jr. died Sunday at Regency Heritage Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Somerset. He was 83.
Born in Nashville, Tenn., he grew up in California, raised his family in West Windsor from 1970 to 1989 and then resided in Tempe, Ariz. He moved to Bridgewater this year.
He was an advertising executive at various advertising companies in New York City for 55 years, retiring in 1989.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Father of the late Dan Williams, father-in-law of the late Linda Williams and brother of the late Richard Williams, he is survived by his daughter, Jocelyn DeAngelis Williams of Bridgewater; sons and daughters-in-law L. Scott and Sue Williams of Arkansas and Andrew and Cynthia Williams of Philadelphia; granddaughters Samantha and Danielle; sister and brother-in-law Merrilyn and Thomas Coleman of Tempe, Ariz.; and brother Scott Williams of Scottsdale, Ariz.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Nov. 25 at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Route 202 South, Branchburg.
Visiting hour will begin at noon at the funeral home.
