Management group responds to Knob Hill residents

It is sad that one must blame others when he loses an election. Signature Property Group did nothing but follow the directions of the Board of Trustees and our attorneys.

Lou Newman suggested we have a closed ballot, the board voted and approved this. He then proceeded to bring in open ballots, without envelopes and balked because they could not be counted. A closed ballot is a closed ballot! SPG enforced the board’s vote under the directions of our attorneys.

Signature Property Group advises, looks for vendors, goes out for bids and takes the brunt of complaints, with dignity and patience, for and from all the boards in the community. No one has ever been turned away from their open door.

As for the comments of Mr. Newman (“Residents Should Be Directing Their Management Firm,” Letters to the Editor, News Transcript, Oct. 24, 2007) on the children at the pool: he wanted to have adult parties at the pool (no children),certain hours for adult swimming (no children). He was advised that this could not be done under the Fair Housing Act, as we are not a senior community.

Additional chairs were tabled at our meeting until we saw how much room we had after the sunshade was installed. Umbrellas were projected into the 2008 budget.

Lastly, Mr. Newman claimed he took care of transition. In the two years he was on the board he never once brought the subject up. When I was appointed I pushed to have it done as time was running out.

The three board members that were elected told people to go to the office and read the Knob Hill board minutes to find out what was fact and what was fiction. The people of this community definitely were not apathetic, they did what they were asked. The results. Truth won over Fiction. Now Mr. Newman, the meeting is truly adjourned.
