Methodists slate Christmas bazaar

Nov. 17 at Hopewell church

   ”Christmas Joy” is the theme for the annual Christmas Bazaar to be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Hopewell United Methodist Church, 20 Blackwell Ave., Hopewell.
   The bazaar features gifts, crafts and handmade goodies. The Sugar and Spice Bake Shop will include a variety of homemade baked goods (cookies, cakes and pies), pickles and relishes, jams and jellies, while the Crafter’s Gift Boutique will offer handmade crafts, Christmas and holiday decorations and other specialty items.
   Bargain hunters will find antique and “already loved” items in the Attic Treasures section, located upstairs in Burton Hall. The Bazaar also includes a Silent Auction, featuring other handiwork, gift baskets, gift certificates, donations from businesses and other items.
   Shoppers can go to the Gingerbread Café for a cup of coffee, baked goods, or a hot lunch of soup, sandwich or the chef’s special of the day.
   Returning vendors will include Tastefully Simple, Avon and Melaluca Products. There also will be a jewelry booth and an information and product table for Canine Search and Rescue.
   Capital Health System staff will provide free health screenings for blood pressure and blood glucose between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Bazaar proceeds will benefit the ministries of the church. The bake shop will benefit global missions of the United Methodist Women. For more information, call 466-0471.
