Cooler weather has finally arrived, and with it, Ocean county’s annual flu clinics.
The Ocean County Health Department is running 60 vaccination clinics throughout the county from now through the end of December.
Vaccines are available to adults and children over the age of six months. Each year more than 200,000 Americans are hospitalized with the flu and 36,000 patients, mostly senior citizens, die from the virus.
Pneumonia vaccines are also available to adults over the age of 65 and to younger people who can provide a doctor’s note. The cost of a flu or pneumonia vaccine is $20 each. There is no charge for residents with non-HMO Medicare Part B.
The vaccines will be offered at the following Brick locations:
Lions Head North Clubhouse, 200 Courtshire Drive, 9- 10:30 a.m. Nov. 14.
Senior Outreach Services, located in the VFW building, 373 Adamston Road, 9- 11 a.m. Nov. 28.
Old Guard of Greater Point Pleasant, Old Guard Building, 170 Duchess Lane, 9- 11 a.m. Nov. 28.
Ocean Medical Center, East Wing Conference Room A, 425 Jack Martin Blvd., 1:30- 3:30 p.m. Nov. 28.
