Mystery is in the air this week at Notre Dame High School, Lawrenceville section of Lawrence, as students in the Performing Arts Department present Agatha Christie’s classic drama “Murder on the Nile.”
Jessica Schladebeck of Allentown is among the cast members starring in the play, which is set in 1930s Egypt at a time when the region experienced strong British presence, according to a Notre Dame High School press release.
The plot begins when a passenger on a tourist cruise ship is found murdered. When the obvious suspect is exonerated, anyone could be the killer, including a rich and famous couple, a scorned lover, an angry communist, an African doctor, a bitter maid, high-society snobs and an Anglican priest.
The entire cast, as well as the audience, searches for the true killer during the production and encounters shocks and surprises around every corner.
“Murder on the Nile” will be performed Nov. 15-17 starting at 7:30 p.m. each night in the Notre Dame Backstage Theatre in Lawrenceville. Tickets cost $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. For tickets or additional information call (609) 882-7900.
