The South Brunswick Township Planning Board is still considering changes to the Master Plan.
The Planning Board is in the middle of a reexamination of the township Master Plan, which is required by state law to be done every six years. Township Planner Craig Marshall updated the board on the reexamination process Nov. 8.
Proposed changes to the plan include updating certain land designations to be consistent with zoning changes that have already been made by the township. In all, 22 land designations are expected to be change, including changing an area of Fresh Ponds Road, east of Route 130, from Office to General Industrial.
The new Master Plan will also change the designation of an area of Georges Road, east of Route 130, from Rural Residential to Highway Commercial.
Also getting new designations will be an area on Major Road behind the Burger King from Low Density Residential to Planned Retirement Community, and Pigeon Swamp State Park from Rural Residential to Government Park and Open Space.
