In an effort to heighten understanding of the interconnectedness of diverse cultures and nations, Ocean County College’s Global Education Task Force will sponsor a number of events.
Global Day of Thanksgiving, presented 11 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Nov. 15 in the Solar Lounge, College Center, celebrates the diversity of cultures through samplings of food from across the globe, a lecture on hunger and poverty in Ocean County and the world, and a dance presentation.
“The Word of God on Black History and Christian Icons of Medieval Europe,” presented 2 p.m. Nov. 15 in the Tech Lecture Hall, Technology Building, offers a lecture and visual presentation.
“An Introduction to Islamic Art,” 11 a.m. Nov. 16, in the Solar Lounge, College Center, presents an introduction to the art of Islam, and will provide interpretations of the artistic, cultural and religious significance of the highly geometrical art.
Rabbi Ellen Wolintz-Fields will present “The Role of Women in Judaism,” to be held 11 a.m. Nov. 16, in the Tech Lecture Hall, Technology Building. All talks are free and open to the public.
