Long Branch group raises $13K at local event

The Long Branch Concordance (LBC) raised $13,000 at its second BrewSips fundraiser Nov. 1 at the Shore Institute of the Contemporary Arts on Third Avenue. Over 140 guests attended the event, which the LBC said it hopes to make an annual affair.

BrewSips featured a tasting of beers and cocktails provided by Court Liquors in West End and the Hunterdon Brewing Co., as well as food prepared by My Kitchen Witch Café in Monmouth Beach. Other highlights at the event included jazz music by Mel Hood, a silent auction and a 50/50 cash raffle drawing.

The LBC is a nonprofit agency established in 2004 that finds resources for people in need, fosters individual and family development and creates partnerships for community well-being. For more information, visit www.lbc4help.org.
