The Board of Education named Monroe school administrator Jodi Howe principal at Woods Road Elementary School, beginning Jan. 2, this week.
Board members approved Ms. Howe’s appointment to the $105,000 a year position at their Monday meeting. She will replace former Woods Road Principal Scott Rocco, who was appointed district human resources director earlier this year.
”It’s a wonderful opportunity to lead Woods Road School,” said Ms. Howe at the meeting. “It’s great to work in a district that puts children first.”
A vice principal at Mill Lake Elementary School in Monroe Township since 2005, Ms. Howe coordinates the basic skills and gifted and talented programs at the school.
Prior to working in Monroe, Ms. Howe worked as a teacher in the Lawrence Township School district. In addition to working at the school, Ms. Howe is a delegation leader for the People to People Student Ambassador Program, and has traveled to Australia, the British Isles, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, and England with students.
”Ms. Howe has had a number of experiences that have prepared her to be the fifth principal of Woods Road Elementary School,” said Hillsborough Superintendent Edward Forsthoffer. “These experiences, along with her enthusiasm and commitment to the children of Hillsborough make her a perfect match with the Woods Road community.”
Ms. Howe holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and journalism, and a master’s degree in educational administration from Rider University.
