Princeton Junction FD gets federal grant

WEST WINDSOR — The Princeton Junction Volunteer Fire Company has received a $9,000 grant from the 2007 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program administered by the United States Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency.    Princeton Junction Volunteer Fire Company will used the funds for purchasing a thermal imaging camera to be utilized during fire responses to aid in locating persons trapped in buildings and to locate fires hidden in walls.
The fire company sought this grant to enhance its operational capability, while relieving the community of the increased tax burden which would result if the township were to provide this equipment through the regular budget, company officials said.   — Greg Forester
