Mrs. Layton, 77, of Howell, died Oct. 30, 2007, at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. She was a lifelong resident of Howell and a homemaker. Mrs. Layton is survived by her husband of 57 years, John Layton; a son, John Layton Jr. of Howell; a daughter, Janet Layton of Howell; a brother, James; three sisters, Virginia, Mary and Jean; and two grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the Clayton & Mc- Girr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, followed by interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale.
