Julian L. Davis, Monroe

   Julian L. Davis, 87, died Sunday, Nov. 18.
   Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in Pompton Plains before moving to Monroe 14 years ago.
   Prior to retiring in 1984, Mr. Davis was a physicist for the United States Department of Defense, where he worked for 40 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
   Mr. Davis was a published author who wrote five books on the physics of wave propagation. He also was a member of the Union of Concerned Scientists and belonged to the Clearbrook chapter of B’Nai Brith, Monroe, and was an associate member of the Monroe chapter of Hadassah.
   He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Davis; three sons, Michael Davis of Queens, N.Y., Jack Davis and his wife, Joy, of Manhattan, N.Y., and David Davis and his wife, Karen, of Summit; his sister, Suzanne Goldstein of Wisconsin; and two grandchildren, Alef and Ariel.
   Funeral Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 20, in Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, Cranbury Road at Evergreen Boulevard, East Brunswick. Interment will follow in New Montefiore Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monroe Township chapter of Hadassah or the Jewish Federation of Middlesex County.
