RWJ Hospital gets service award

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton accepted the New Jersey Business & Industry Association public service award honoring the hospital for its “Shapedown” program, which responds to the national epidemic of childhood obesity.
Since its inception in 2002, the Shapedown program has screened over 4,000 Mercer County children for health risks. RWJ Hamilton’s Diabetes Self-Management Education Program reaches out to students in all schools in Mercer County that enroll children ages 8 to 13. The prevention program helps to go to the root of the problem by encouraging healthy lifestyles and a healthy weight for the entire family.
