Mary Bernice Carson

   HAMILTON TOWNSHIP – Mary Bernice Carson, a lifelong resident of Hamilton Township, died Sunday at McAuley Hall, Mount Saint Mary’s, Watchung.
   Born in Trenton, Mrs. Carson was a homemaker. She was a member of the Altar-Rosary Society of St. Anthony’s Church and a longtime benefactor and volunteer for St. Anthony’s Church. She was a contributor to the Sisters of Mercy of New Jersey.
   Daughter of the late Thomas F. and Anne Marie Keating Lavin and wife of the late Richard J. Carson Sr., she is survived by five children, Mary Nan Mitzen of Mansfield Township, Thomas F. and his wife Joan Carson of Wilmington, Del., Sister Patricia Carson, RSM of Hoopa, Calif., Richard J. Jr. and his wife Christine Carson of Bordentown and Brother Robert L. Carson, S.J. of Cape May; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today, Thursday, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church, 626 South Olden Ave., Hamilton. Visiting hours will be today at 9:30 a.m. until time of mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton.
