Jose Gonzales, 25, of Gemini Drive, was charged with driving while intoxicated and careless driving when his truck was found leaning off the roadway on Falcon Road at 1 a.m. Nov. 11.
Mr. Gonzales was taken into custody after he failed several field sobriety tests. At police headquarters, his blood alcohol level was found to be 0.15 percent. A BAC of 0.08 or higher is intoxicated under New Jersey state law.
Mr. Gonzales was processed and released to the custody of a friend.
Humberto Estrada Landaverde, 23, of Gemini Drive, and Jose Landaverde, 23, of Gemini Drive, who left the scene of the accident, were charged with fourth-degree possession of a simulated document when they presented Social Security cards and resident alien cards that were found to be fraudulent.
Both men were processed and released to the custody of a friend.
Michael Guggenheim, 23, of Somerville, received summonses for driving while intoxicated, speeding, careless driving, failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident and uninsured vehicle after police responded to a call that a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and drove through a red traffic light on Route 206 at 2:50 a.m. Nov. 11.
Police pulled Mr. Guggenheim over after registering that he was traveling at a speed of 63 miles per hour on a 40 mph road. Police said they then noticed the front of Mr. Guggenheim’s vehicle was heavily damaged and half of the front bumper was missing. According to police, Mr. Guggenheim admitted to hitting a guardrail on Route 206.
Mr. Guggenheim was taken into custody after he failed several field sobriety tests. At police headquarters, he was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.16 percent.
Mr. Guggenheim was processed and released to the custody of a friend.
Patricia Manos, 55, of Mountain View Road, received summonses for driving while intoxicated, careless driving and refusal to submit to a breath test after police were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Amwell Road at 3:36 p.m. Nov. 12.
According to police, Ms. Manos struck the curb while turning left onto Amwell Road from Clover Hill Road, then crossed over the double yellow lines and struck a street sign.
Ms. Manos was taken into custody after she failed several field sobriety tests. At police headquarters, she refused to submit to a breath test.
Ms. Manos was processed and released.
James Hart, 42, of East Mountain Road, was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended and careless driving after police were called to East Mountain Road where Mr. Hart’s car had struck a tree at 5:57 p.m. Nov. 10.
Mr. Hart was transported to Somerset Medical Center for a deep cut on his leg. There, police said blood was drawn to test his blood alcohol level.
Mr. Hart was released to Psychiatric Emergency Screening Services (PESS) for comments made while he was at the medical center.
Jeffrey Scott, 21, of Weber Avenue, was charged with third-degree possession of heroin after police found him to be in possession of a hypodermic needle and several wax folds of heroin during a security check at Kohl’s on Route 206 at 2:42 p.m. Nov. 15.
Police said Mr. Scott was questioned because of suspicious behavior while standing outside the store. During questioning, police said Mr. Scott was continuously playing with something in his pocket.
Mr. Scott was processed and released, pending an appearance in Somerset County state Superior Court.
Christopher Lewis, 18, of Middlesex, received summonses for possession of CDS under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was pulled over on Falcon Road for having a rejected inspection sticker issued by the Motor Vehicle Commission on his car at 11:10 a.m. Nov. 19.
Police said they found the small burnt end of a marijuana cigarette on the rear passenger side floor. Police also said Mr. Lewis turned over a glass pipe used to smoke marijuana.
Mr. Lewis was processed and released. He will appear in court at the municipal building at 3 p.m. Dec. 4.
George Lawler, 18, of Hillsborough, and a 17-year-old boy were charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief following the theft of copper piping from a vacant building on Homestead Road Nov. 8.
Police did not report how much piping was taken, but reported a witness provided a license plate of the suspects’ vehicle, which led to the charges.
Mr. Lawler was released pending an arraignment in Superior Court.
The juvenile was released to the custody of his parents and will appear in the family division of Superior Court.
Police said there are more charges possible against other juveniles, but there was no further information available.
