Don’t pick on mom and pop stores

Don’t pick on
mom and pop stores
To the editor:
I can not believe you would compare a chain drugstore to Bear Apothecary.
Obviously, you don’t live in this “jewel” city of Lambertville.
We are not talking about a drugstore but an institution that has the charm of what life was and can still be.
When you call or walk into this institution, you either speak to Mortie, the owner and pharmacist, or Rich, the other pharmacist. Prescriptions are never mixed up or given to a wrong customer.
It is the insurance industry that has created these prices. Who are they to set charges for procedures, prescriptions, therefore, your well-being. We should all be appalled with New Jersey insurance. It is outrageous.
You need to spend time lobbying the system and fight to reduce these fees. Don’t pick on the mom and pop businesses.
Be happy you can get service and satisfaction in dealing with the family owned businesses.
