Mrs. Oliver, 90, of Colts Neck, died Nov. 6, 2007, at home. She was born in Decker, Ind., on Dec. 14, 1916, and had lived in Colts Neck for the past seven years. Mrs. Oliver earned a degree in library science from Indiana University, Bloomington. She was a grade-school teacher and children’s librarian in Wayne Township in Indianapolis. She and her husband, whom she met and married during her freshman year at Indiana, were lifelong fans of the university’s basketball team and its coach, Bobby Knight. Mrs. Oliver and her husband retired to Florida, where they enjoyed playing golf and bridge. They also traveled extensively. Mrs. Oliver was predeceased by her husband, David Oliver, as well as four sisters. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, retired Rear Adm. David and Linda Oliver of Arlington, Va., and retired Capt. Timothy and Ginger Oliver of Alexandria, Va.; a daughter and sonin law, Leslie and Michael Zimring of Colts Neck; a sister, Rose Catt of Decker, Ind.; five grandsons and a spouse; and one great-grandson. A memorial service was held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County, Lincroft section of Middletown. Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge, was in charge of arrangements.
