Burtnik, ‘Mad Dog’ to play in benefit show

The Brighton Bar, 121 Brighton Ave., Long Branch, will present the Heart 911 Homecoming Show, sponsored by Bear Stearns, on Dec. 8 at 8 p.m.

The show will feature Glen Burtnik, former singer and lead guitarist for Styx; Steel Mill featuring Vini “Mad Dog” Lopez; and Lynam, which is currently touring with Vince Neil of Motley Crue. There will also be special surprise guests and autograph raffles.

The Heart 911, founded by Bill Keagan, is an organization of retired police officers and firemen who served in the Sept. 11, 2001 tragedy, according to a press release. The men and women have banded together as a unit of workers with a mission to help in any crisis around the world.

On Dec. 8, 50 officers will be returning from Louisiana where they have been giving aid to the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. The Heart 911 Homecoming Show will be in honor of these men and women and will be accepting charitable donations.

Tickets are $20. Doors will open at 8 p.m. Advance tickets are available at the Brighton Bar box office.
