Mr. Summers, 35, of Manalapan, died Nov. 21, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in New York City, he had resided in Manalapan his entire life. He attended St. Thomas the Apostle School, Old Bridge, and graduated from St. John Vianney High School, Holmdel, where he excelled in sports. Mr. Summers was the recipient of a full scholarship as a student-athlete at Delaware State University, Dover. He was predeceased by a brother, Michael,and his grandparents, Alma and Alexander Carter and Pauline and Augustus Summers. Surviving are his parents, Blanche and Dr. Anthony Summers; his companion, Tyshahn Neal, and her daughter, Lexys; an aunt and three uncles, Jacqueline and Hugh Snow, Alexander Carter III and Daniel Carter; and four cousins. Funeral services were held at Bethel A.M.E. Church, Freehold, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
