HILLSBOROUGH Robert Paul Hagenhofer died Nov. 28 at home. He was 84
He was raised in Chicago and lived in Staten Island for many years before moving to Hillsborough.
Mr. Hagenhofer had a free lance graphic artist practice in Manhattan. He later worked in the Graphics Department at the College of Staten Island and Middlesex County College.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He served as chairman of the Staten Island Citizens Planning Committee which was responsible for saving the Green Belt. When he moved to New Jersey he continued his interest in environmental issues within the Sourland Mountains.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Hagenhofer; two daughters, Faith Hagenhofer and Eva Baez; two step sons, Colin and Martin Sturgess; and 10 grandchildren.
A celebration of Mr. Hagenhofer’s life was held Dec. 4 at Hillsborough Funeral Home in Hillsborough. Burial was in Neshanic Cemetery in Hillsborough.
