Stan Kephart

    Stan Kephart of Princeton died Sunday.
   Born in Philadelphia and raised in Pitman, he was a Princeton resident since 1965.
   An artist, he had several one-man shows locally, including “kephARTl985,””40 views of Nassau Street,” and “All That Jazz” in 2004.
   As a graphic artist he worked for Trentypo, Pavolec/Caskey, The Home News and US 1.
   He enjoyed his practice of art, volunteer prison chaplaincy and serving First Church of Christ, Scientist in Princeton in various capacities, most recently as first reader.
   He coordinated the work of the Christian Science Committee for Institutional Service in New Jersey and served as a volunteer chaplain in penal and mental institutions throughout the state since 1986.
   He was a graduate of the Philadelphia Museum School of Art, now the University of the Arts, and served in the Army from 1954 to 1956.
   Son of the late Harry and Eva Kephart, he is survived by his wife, Mary Julia Kephart of Princeton; daughter and son-in-law Jean Louise Kephart Cipriani and Frank Cipriani of South Toms River; grandchildren Emma, Francesca, Grace and Domenico Cipriani, all of South Toms River; and sister Phyllis Kephart of Titusville, Pa. and Somers Point.
   A celebration of his life will be held 1 p.m. Dec. 29 at Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau St., Princeton.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
