Esther Seldner

Assistant to Rutgers dean
    Esther Seldner of Princeton died Thursday at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. She was 88.
   Born in Lindenhurst, N.Y., and raised in North Jersey, she was a resident of Princeton more than 40 years.
   She served as assistant to the dean of students at Rutgers University for 24 years, retiring in 1987. Rutgers honored her more than 20 years of service with a scholarship in her name awarded to a student at the annual awards dinner.
   Mrs. Seldner was a Rutgers graduate.
   Wife of the late Abraham Seldner, who died in 2000 and to whom she was married to for 58 years, she is survived by sons and daughter-in-law David of Seattle, Michael and Elaine of Millstone and Joseph of Princeton; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
   Memorial services were held Sunday.
   Arrangements were by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan.
