Rep. Rush Holt (NJ-12) has announced he will hold a live telephone town hall meeting today (Dec. 10) from 8-9 p.m. The telephone town hall is a new technique to hear from and talk with constituents in a format much like the format of a traditional public town hall setting.
”The connection between constituents and their representatives is vital, and this telephone town hall offers another avenue for that connection to be made and strengthened,” Rep. Holt said. “As there are many constraints on people’s time, it is my hope that the telephone town hall will provide a convenient opportunity for people in Central New Jersey to share their views, ask me questions, and to hear their neighbors’ questions.”
Utilizing a new computer generated program, the telephone town hall operates like a large-scale conference call between Rep. Holt and potentially thousands of Central New Jersey constituents. At the outset of the town hall meeting, residents will be notified by telephone inviting them to call in. Call recipients then have the option of staying on the line at home to a question and answer session or ask their own questions.
To guarantee entry to the telephone town hall, citizens also can call 866-447-5149 and enter the pin number 13372. If you have further questions about the telephone town hall, please call Zach Goldberg in Rep. Holt’s Washington office at (202) 225-5801.
