Will serve until November 2008

Democrat Glen Griffith of Baldwin Street has joined the Pennington Council.
Mr. Griffith was sworn in Dec. 12 after council voted unanimously to appoint him to replace Robert Di Falco.
Mr. Griffith will serve until the November general election next year.
Mr. Di Falco defeated Republican Lance Lewis in the last general election in a contest to complete an unexpired term. Mr. Di Falco resigned less than two weeks after being elected because state law prohibits him from serving on council at the same time he is on the board of directors of Mercer County Community College.
Mr. Di Falco has been on that board three and a half years. He said he did not know he was barred from holding both posts simultaneously until after he was elected and that he resigned as soon as he found out about it.
The six-member Pennington Council Mayor Tony Persichilli are all Democrats.
Council will meet one more time this year, on Dec. 26, to finish up some 2007 business. Mr. Griffith will take the oath of office again at that meeting, so his family members may be present for the ceremony, borough officials said.
