Irene Bukovecky

   MANVILLE — Irene Theresa Bukovecky of Manville died Dec. 2 at Raritan Health & Extended Care in Raritan.
   Born in Bayonne, she was a resident of Manville and also lived Huntington, W.Va.
   Mrs. Bukovecky was employed for many years in the advertising department at RCA Corp., both in Harrison and Bridgewater. She was a volunteer in the gift shop of Somerset Medical Center in Somerville during the 1970s and 1980s.
   She loved painting and her work was exhibited locally in Princeton and Hudson County. In 1994 she was honored by the Bayonne Free Public Library and Cultural Center for her donation of her original portrait of Polish composer, Frederic Chopin.
   She was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Manville and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Bayonne, where she belonged to the Senior Citizens Club. She restored several murals at the former St. Mary’s Church in Manville.
   Her husband, John Bukovecky; two brothers, S. Alexander Wysock and Victor Wysock; and a sister, Priscilla Lewandoski are deceased.
   Surviving are two sisters, Jeanne Gorecki and Honora Dzubeck; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
   A funeral service was held Dec. 7 from Ketusky Funeral Home in Manville, followed by a liturgy at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
