James H. Rendall Jr.

    NEWTOWN, Pa. — James Hawley Rendall Jr. died Dec. 9 at Pennswood Village. He was 88.
   A longtime Bucks County resident, he was in the brokerage business on Nassau Street in Princeton beginning in 1985 with Tucker Anthony.
   Born in Ogdensburg, N.Y., he grew up in Beverly. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1942 and immediately enlisted in the Army where he served 3½ years with the Army’s transportation corps in Africa, Italy and southern France.
   After working 10 years for the Biddle Co., a Hertz franchise in Trenton, he joined the investment advisory firm of Enis Wetzel Co. In 1960, he opened the Trenton office of Tucker Anthony Inc., which later merged with the Princeton office. Tucker Anthony was subsequently bought by RBC Dain Rauscher.
   He continued to work at RBC Dain Rauscher on Nassau Street until the time of his death.
   He served on the planning commission of Upper Makefield Township, the board of trustees of the Newtown Presbyterian Church, the foundation board of Mercer Medical Center, and the board of directors of the Thousand Island Land Trust in Clayton, N.Y.
   Son of the late James H. and Frances Rendall, father of the late Trip Rendall and grandfather of the late Chava Minder, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Laura; daughters and sons-in-law Laurie R. Coursin, Francie R. and Bob Minder and Margot Rendall and George Gardner; sons and daughters-in-law Peter Rendall and Doug and Betsy Rendall; and nine grandchildren.
   A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Dec. 22 at the George School Meeting House, Newtown, Pa. A reception will follow.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Thousand Island Land Trust, P.O. Box 238, Clayton, NY 13624.
