   Ice skating show: Two-time Olympic gold medallist and coach Evgeny Platov and two internationally acclaimed couples will be sharing their world-competition routines with the community.    Sunday poetry reading: AIDS researcher and prize-winning writer Sam Friedman will be the guest poet for December’s installment of the monthly poetry readings. 2 p.m. at the South Brunswick Public Library, Kingston Lane.    New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance: VFW Post 9111 of South Brunswick will host a New Year’s Eve party with music and dinner at the Post home, Henderson Road, at 8 p.m. Donations are $35 per person, or $40 at the door.
