An Iranian couple on a round-the-world cycling tour to promote peace and a positive image of their country will address the Princeton-based Coalition for Peace Action at its pre-holiday Peace Event on Tuesday.
The event starts with a candlelight vigil for peace on earth from 5 to 6 p.m. at Palmer Square with a potluck supper and party to follow from 6 to 7 p.m. at Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau St.
The couple, Jafar and Naseem Edrisi, will make their presentation following the potluck dinner.
They expect to be away from home for two years during their 20,000 kilometer ride, which has a budget of $10 to $18 a day.
They say their purpose is to covey a message of peace and friendship and fix the negative image of Iran.
The second part of the program will be a talk by the Rev. Robert Moore, coalition executive director, on “Impacting the 2008 Elections for Peace.” For further information, call the Coalition for Peace Action at (609) 924-5022 or visit www.peacecoalition.org.
