Phase II of CHS in Hamilton Brings Fully Accredited Sleep Services and an Array of Physician Specialties
Now Mercer County residents can sleep better.
Capital Health System (CHS) recently opened their new Phase II building next door to their Phase I facility located at 1401 Whitehorse Mercerville Road in Hamilton, N.J.
The grand opening event featured such guests as Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes; Hal English, director of Technology and Economic Development, Hamilton Township; and Donald Loff, chairman of the Board of Directors for the Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce. CHS representatives included Michael L. Somerstein, MD, chairman of the Board of Directors; President and CEO Al Maghazehe, PhD, FACHE; and Mark Pressman, MD, president of the Medical Staff. Reverend Stephen Faller, chaplain at CHS, delivered invocation.
One of the many clinical services to arrive with the new facility is The Center for Sleep Medicine at CHS, which has relocated from the CHS Fuld and Mercer campuses.
CHS has the largest, fully accredited sleep center in Mercer and Bucks counties. The Center has been providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment for sleep disorders for nearly 20 years, more years of experience in clinical sleep services than all other Mercer County sleep centers combined.
The new, state-of-the-art facility offers comprehensive sleep evaluations and treatments using the latest technology available—all in a luxury setting. Patients undergoing overnight sleep studies will experience the following assortment of comforts:
- 12 private sleeping rooms
- Individual bathroom & shower facilities
- Flat screen TVs & cherry finish cabinets
- Complimentary breakfast
The Center for Sleep Medicine evaluates and treats a variety of neurological as well as pulmonary sleep disorders such as the following: Sleep Apnea,Narcolepsy, Isomnia, and Prasomnia.
The new facility also offers physician practices for neuroscience, endocrinology, and women’s studies.
The Institute for Neuroscience is led by Medical Director John D. Lipani, MD, PhD, who is also surgical director for the area’s only CyberKnife Center, the world’s most accurate radiosurgery device that allows physicians to treat tumors and lesions anywhere in the body with sub-millimeter accuracy. Dr. Lipani is the only fellowship trained CyberKnife neurosurgeon in the United States.
Led by board certified endocrinologists and internists Parveen K. Verma, DO and Sheri Gillis-Funderburk, MD, Capital Endocrinology uses a team-based approach to the treatment and management of diabetes, hyper- and hypothyroid disease as well as other common issues involving the endocrine (or gland) system.
Also under the same roof are Lawrence OB/GYN Associates as well as Hopewell Valley Medical Group, PA, which specializes in gastroenterology, treating disorders and common issues involving the digestive system.
