Mr. Menkes, 91, of Colts Neck, died Dec. 5, 2007, at home. He was born in Ridgefield and had resided in Teaneck and Kinnelon before moving to Colts Neck in 1994. He was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rutherford. Prior to retiring more than 20 years ago, Mr. Menkes was president of the Snelling and Snelling employment agency in Bloomfield. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Florence; a son, Michael Menkes of Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church, followed by interment at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, both of Marlboro. Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
