Was theater backroom deal?

Gisbert Manskopf of West Amwell
The second part of the referendum two years ago to spend $4.5 million on an auditorium spoke only and singularly of an auditorium, not auditorium/ theater or even a word of theater.
If in order to pass the second part of the referendum for an auditorium some special interest group was promised something more — like a theater — then these promises represent false and misleading understandings.
The general public was not aware of these deals. The majority voted on an auditorium for the students at South.
Sure enough, at the height of the summer vacation two days before groundbreaking for the auditorium, the special interest group appeared before the Board of Education to cash in on the promises, asking different lightening, seating arrangements, orchestra pit and so on. Nice old tricks.
And the experts came out of the woodwork for support, too. If these backroom deals indeed were made, then the second part of the referendum passed under false pretenses.
Schools should stand for excellence in education and education only.
