Helen M. Johnson

   ALLENTOWN — Helen M. Johnson, 88, died Dec. 9 at Arcadia Rehab and Nursing Facility in Hamilton.
   Born in Trenton, Ms. Johnson was a resident of Allentown for 70 years.
   A charter member of the Hope Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, she operated “Base 2” for the Hope Fire Company No. 1 for over 20 years. She was a past member of the Allentown First Aid Squad and a member of the Allentown First Aid Squad Ladies Auxiliary.
   Ms. Johnson was predeceased by her husband, Frederick, as well as her daughter and son-in-law, Cecilia Ann and George Taylor, and her granddaughter, June Ann Fenton. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Helen Frances and Allen Taylor of Allentown, and Mary Dancer and her partner, Henry Greenemeir, of Bordentown; her grandchildren, George Taylor Jr. of Wrightstown, Helen Margaret Taylor of Allentown, Cindy and Ted Van Pelt of Allentown, Steven and Sharon Dancer of Beauford, S.C., Rebecca and Rick Mitchell of Cream Ridge, Frederick and Holly Taylor of Mercerville and Delmar Fenton of Allentown; her great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Fenton, Chelsea and Morgan Mitchell, Ryan Dancer, Tara and Roxanne Van Pelt; and former son-in-law, James Dancer of Sunset Beach, N.C. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
   A funeral service was held Friday at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown. The Rev. Merton Steelman officiated. Interment followed in St. John’s Cemetery, Allentown.
