Senior citizens can get rides soon

Program begins in January

   • Hopewell Valley residents 65 and older and unable to drive, as well as residents of any age who are visually impaired are invited to register for Hopewell Valley Rides, a new transportation system. Beginning in January 2008, registered riders will be able to request transportation to locations within Hopewell Township and Hopewell and Pennington boroughs. Services will be provided from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
   Hopewell Valley Rides is being sponsored for 2008 by a $22,176 donation from Bristol-Myers Squibb. Residents will register and purchase vouchers in advance through Hopewell Valley Senior Services. Vouchers are $2 for a one-way ride and must be purchased in books of 10. Stout’s Charter Company, Inc. will be the transportation provider.
