Marie DePazza Thomas, 81, died Friday, Dec. 14, in Monroe Village.
Born in Bayonne, she resided in Highland Park before moving to Monroe Village three years ago.
Ms. Thomas was an assignment clerk for Middlesex County Court, retiring after 23 years of service. She was a communicant of St. Theresa’s R.C. Church in Edison and a member of the church’s Rosary Society. She also worked bingo for over 25 years. Ms. Thomas was past president of Irving School PTA in Highland Park and was a member of the auxiliary of BPO Elks 2033 in South River.
A husband, Richard J. Thomas, died in 2006. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Policastro and her husband, Joseph, of Monroe and Lorraine Hecomovich of Long Lake, Minn.; one son, Robert J. Thomas and his wife, Ilse, of Cranbury; one brother, Frederick De Pazza, of Colonia; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 18, from Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick, followed by a Mass at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin R.C. Church, New Brunswick. Entombment followed at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union, St., Suite 301, Robbinsville, N.J. 08691.
