HAMILTON Caroline Elissa (Centoni) Cambridge died Dec. 17.
Born in Boston, Mass., in 1918, Ms. Cambridge was raised in Everett, Mass., where she attended the local high school and graduated from Copley Art School, Back Bay, Boston.
She served in the U.S. Air Force (WAC) in the finance department and attained the rank of corporal. Ms. Cambridge resided in Hockessin, Del., most of her married life with her late husband, John D. Cambridge, formerly of Portland, Maine; he was a design engineer with E.I. Dupont Co.
She was an active member of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish and served on its Altar Society and Women’s Guild. She found great enjoyment as a longtime member of the New Garden Art Association in nearby New Garden Township, Pa. In recent years, she moved to New Jersey to be closer to her family.
In addition to her husband, Ms. Cambridge was also predeceased by her son, Peter D. Cambridge. She is survived by her son, John A. Cambridge of Hamilton; a grandson, Douglas C. Cambridge of Robbinsville; a niece, Josephine A. Corsano of Las Cruces, N.M.; a nephew, Peter J. Foti and his wife, Joanne P., of Woburn, Mass.; and several Cambridge in-laws, nieces and nephews in Maine.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday from Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3816 East State St. Ext., Mercerville. Interment of cremated remains was private at the convenience of the family in Evergreen Cemetery, Portland, Maine.
