Irving Blanchard
Irving Theron Blanchard, of Lawrence, died Dec. 18 at Capital Health System’s Fuld Campus, in Trenton. He was 82.
Born in Braintree, Vt., he formerly resided in Freehold and Hightstown before moving to Lawrence 15 years ago.
Mr. Blanchard was in the U.S. Navy as a Sonarman 2nd class from 1945 to 1949.
He was last employed by Kimberly-Clark, in Spotswood, as a machine operator. He was a lifetime member of the VFW 3525 of Hamilton. He was an avid New York Mets fan, loved saltwater fishing and also enjoyed carpentry.
Son of the late Fred L. and Viva Mae Adams Blanchard and brother of the late Barbara Lee, he is survived by his wife, Diana Blanchard, of Lawrence; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Danny F. and Diane Blanchard, of Hamilton, Donald J. and LuAnn Blanchard, of New York, David D. Blanchard, of Trenton, and Douglas A. and Linda Blanchard, of Columbus; two brothers, Stillman F. Blanchard, of Missouri, and Smith M. Blanchard, of Florida; a sister, Ivis Braker, of Freehold; three grandchildren, Ryan, Megan, and David Blanchard; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Dec. 22. Burial was at the convenience of the family.
