Lawrenceville Main Street, the organization formed in the mid-1990s to help revitalize the Village of Lawrenceville, held its second-annual Taste of Lawrenceville event on Sunday at The Lawrenceville School.
If the lack of elbowroom and long lines to the tasting stations were any indication, the function’s sophomore showing was even more successful than the first.
While it was disappointing to see upscale eatery Acacia once more opting out of the event, and Fedora’s Café deciding not to return, those present offered a multitude of interesting and enjoyable options, and many area businesses, farms and individuals helped the Main Street fundraiser go off relatively smoothly.
One suggestion for next year: given the function’s success, it might behoove organizers to move to another venue besides the Abbott Dining Hall. While ticket sales were limited to an allegedly manageable 200, there were points where the atmosphere was practically claustrophobic. Good for raising money for the LMS program, bad when you just want to eat some pumpkin ravioli in peace.
