ROEBLING Elizabeth Bordas, 91, of Roebling, died Sunday at home.
Born in Roebling, Ms. Bordas was a lifelong Roebling resident.
She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Hancsin Rusnak. Ms. Bordas and her late husband, Joseph Bordas Jr., were the proprietors of Bordas Liquors & Deli in Roebling for 40 years. Ms. Bordas was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society, Ladies Guild & Festival Committee of the church, the JAR Senior Citizens and the Roebling Historical Society.
Wife of late Joseph Bordas Jr., sister of the late Mary Mares, Andrew and John Rusnak, she is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Bernadine and John Jakim of Columbus, Maryann and Michael Bunnick of Roebling and Madeline and Cornel Rebeles of Roebling; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph E. and Christine Bordas of Roebling; three sisters-in-law, Sophie Rusnak of Trenton, Mary Zahorsky of Columbus, and Amelia Bordas of Fairfax, Va.; 12 grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held today, Thursday, at 11 a.m. at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Ave., Roebling. Office of Christian Burial will be Thursday at noon at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church with Rev. Gregory Noga officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
