EWING — Dominick F. Rocco Jr., 49, died Dec. 27 at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton.
Born in Trenton, he was a Ewing resident for most of his life.
Mr. Rocco was employed by ShopRite for many years in the meat department and most recently worked in the Ewing Township store.
He was a member of the Italian National Hall of Fame, the Knights of Columbus Trenton Chapter 355, the Sherbrook Civic Association, Local Union #56 and Amici’s della Lingo Italiano of Burlington.
He was predeceased by his sister, Susanne Marie Rocco; his maternal grandparents, Raffaele and Mariantonia Santitoro; paternal grandparents, Samuel and Susie Rocco; uncles, Alphonse Santitoro and Anthony and Joseph Rocco; and an aunt, Frances Squeo. He is survived by his parents, Dominick J. Rocco Sr. and Frances Santitoro Rocco of Ewing; an uncle, Rev. Fr. Francis Santitoro, pastor of St. Maximillian Kolbe Church in Toms River; aunts, Marie Santitoro of Allentown, Sister Raffaela Santitoro, MPF of Villa Victoria Academy, Ann and husband Andre Vispetti of Allentown, Lucy Pavlov of Allentown and Josephine Dashner of Pennsylvania; his companion, Joan Tullio of Pennsylvania; and many cousins and friends.
The funeral was held Friday from Gruerio Funeral Home, 311 Chestnut Ave., Trenton. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in Our Lady of the Angels Parish at St. Joachim Church, 20-56 Butler St., Trenton, with his uncle Rev. Fr. Francis Santitoro as principal celebrant.
Interment followed in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey St., Hamilton.
