EMACC recognizes Spinnaker winners

SHREWSBURY – Two hundred and fifty guests gathered for a dinner celebration at Branches,West Long Branch, Nov. 9 to honor seven businesses and individuals whose contributions to the community were worthy of the Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce’s distinctive Spinnaker Award.

Individual honorees were recognized in six categories: Volunteer of the Year, Roberta Sheridan; Public Service, Eatontown Mayor Gerald Tarantolo; Arts and Culture, The Count Basie Theatre; Community Service, Diane Turton, Realtors; Corporate Good Neighbor, Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Tinton Falls; and Non-Profit Organization, Holiday Express.

A seventh, honorary award was presented to Donnalyn Giegerich in recognition

of her recent efforts to ensure a better quality of life for those battling serious illness.

The 16th annual SpinnakerAwards dinner was presented by The Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce (EMACC), a business organization based in Red Bank with more than 650 member businesses.

In June, EMACC will celebrate 80 years of continuous operation. The chamber has served the communities of Eatontown, Fair Haven, Little Silver, Monmouth Beach, Oceanport, Red Bank, Rumson, Sea Bright, Shrewsbury and Tinton Falls since 1928.
