LITTLE SILVER – In celebration of the birthday of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., The Source at Red Bank Regional (RBR) High School will sponsor a lecture program Jan. 18 titled “The Last Days of King.” The program is set to take place at the Source and covers two lunch periods: 12:20-1:01 p.m. and 1:01-1:46 p.m.
The program is presented by Darrell Willis, director of the Dunbar Repertory Company, which stages inspirational plays on African American subjects in New Jersey and around the country. One recent play, titled “The Meeting,” is about a fictional meeting between King and Malcolm X. The RBR program is based on Willis’ personal conversations with the late Yolanda King, Martin Luther King’s oldest daughter.
The Source at RBR is a school-based youth services program that provides academic, health and social service assistance to young people and their families so RBR students can reach their fullest academic potential.
