ROBBINSVILLE Pond Road Middle School students were evacuated from their building Tuesday afternoon following a written bomb threat discovered on a boys’ bathroom wall, according to Robbinsville School District interim Business Administrator Arlene Biesiada.
She said someone wrote “there’s a bomb in the building” as a prank, and the message was discovered around 2:44 p.m., just before afternoon dismissal. The students were bused to Robbinsville High School and dismissed from there, she said.
Lt. Charles Petty said it was unclear who discovered the writing on the side of a bathroom stall, but the threat was reported to a school staff member and the students were immediately evacuated.
Bomb detectives from West Windsor, Lawrence, Ewing, Mercer County and the state police reported to the school and did not find a bomb, Lt. Petty said.
School officials and police are still investigating the matter.
